Do you have a PASSION to work with young people? The opportunity to enhance and deposit positivity into the mind of a young person? As well as change the fortunes and direction of a young person to become the best version of themselves. If so, we are looking for someone like you. Yes we all want to get paid but your PASSION will motivate you to get the best out of yourself.
We need proactive, reliable, committed, trustworthy, resilient, creative and solution focused practitioners to deliver the desired set outcomes for our young people.
P4THWAY is a Support and Accommodation Provider that was set up in 2017 by a Social Worker to improve existing services and shape better futures for Looked After Children and Care Leavers We are OFSTED registered and commissioned by Local Authority Children Services to provide support and accommodation with the aim of inspiring young people to achieve success in life and develop in them the qualities of a good citizen. Success can be measured to every young person in different ways.
P4THWAY is looking for experienced Support Workers to support young people within our semi-independent unit to ensure they receive the highest standard of support in accordance to their individual needs. Examples of support might include attending court, police interviews, grocery shopping, registration of health agencies, setting up bank accounts, attending education meetings and reviews, budget planning, signs of safety, proactive behaviour, contact with family and many more.
Some of the challenges we see in our society that our young people encounter include gang affiliation, child sexual exploitation (CSE), offending behaviour (substance misuse, youth violence), peer pressure, identity crisis, unemployment, deprivation, lack of role models, stereotype, trauma, attachment disorders and many more.
The primary objective is to enable our young people to become emotionally stable and self-sufficient in order to live independently as well as ensuring they maintain a clean home environment. The move on plan for our young people is critical and it is our aim to ensure that the transition into adulthood is smooth and successful.
As a Support Worker, you will also be required to build strong working relationships with local authorities and other professionals in other sectors such as health, education, police, solicitors etc.
In social work, the term 'evidence based practice' is often used and it is vital as we need to give an account of the excellent work that we do. One of the key expectations from local authorities is written quality of reports that are robust and evidence the support and intervention provided to the young people.
You will be very much supported and part of an experienced, welcoming and enthusiastic management team of Senior Social Workers.
The ideal candidates will need to be committed to working flexibly in terms of working hours. For instance, working days and/nights, sleep in's between Monday - Sunday.
