SALARY: £25,148 - £26,472 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Guildford, Surrey (GU1) – Fully Site Based with travel across other sites including Woking (GU21) and Waverley (GU8) (business travel costs covered between locations)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
PLEASE NOTE: A Full Driving Licence and your own vehicle is essential to travel between sites (mileage will be reimbursed for business travel)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Officer / Supported Housing Assistant who has experience working in a customer-facing / person-centred role, with working knowledge of how to support people in achieving and maintaining independence.
Working as the Support Officer / Supported Housing Assistant, you will deliver high-quality person-centred support to customers living in supported accommodation services.
As a Support Officer / Supported Housing Assistant, you will work in accordance with Person-Centred principles, enabling clients to sustain their tenancies by promoting independence, freedom, and choice.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Support Officer / Supported Housing Assistant will include:
* Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centred approach. Liaising with health professionals, other agencies, and colleagues as appropriate.
* Ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights, and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements, and all related procedures.
* Agree and review client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments regularly.
* Flexibly deliver the support identified in an Independent Living Plan through regular person-centred contact, taking follow-up action, and coordinating wraparound support from other agencies if required.
* Forge and maintain links with partner agencies and other key stakeholders.
* Report any safeguarding concerns involving vulnerable people, attending case conferences and meetings as required.
* Ensure all relevant documentation and records are completed and submitted accurately and promptly.
* Contribute to the collection of data for statutory returns.
* Empower clients to ensure safety, security, and cleanliness of the project, including adherence to policies and procedures and reporting repairs as necessary.
* Handle complaints and representations following policy, and undertake investigations if needed.
* Work outside standard hours as needed to deliver services, following lone working procedures.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Full driving licence and own transport are essential.
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*- C).
* A working knowledge of supporting people to achieve and maintain independence is essential.
* Experience with clients experiencing substance misuse and mental health issues is desirable.
* Previous experience in housing is desirable but not essential.
* Safeguarding knowledge and experience are essential.
* Experience supporting diverse client groups.
* Ability to work independently and network effectively with partner agencies, community, and stakeholders.
* Strong organizational skills, including time management and target achievement.
* Effective communication skills at various levels.
* Ability to handle distressed and aggressive clients.
* Intermediate MS Office skills.
