SEN Teaching Assistant – Support, inspire & make a difference in Fareham

We’re seeking a compassionate, patient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming primary schools in Fareham. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing, structured environment.
What You Bring
* Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), either in a school or similar setting
* A calm, empathetic and understanding approach to behaviour and communication
* Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships
* Flexibility to provide tailored support based on each child’s needs
* Reliability, resilience and a proactive mindset
* A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (desirable, not essential)
Your Role & Responsibilities
* Provide personalised 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a range of additional or special educational needs
* Assist class teachers and SENCOs in delivering structured, engaging and accessible learning activities
* Use strategies to promote emotional regulation, communication and positive behaviour
* Prepare or adapt resources to support individual learning plans (EHCPs)
* Help maintain a safe, consistent and supportive environment for children with diverse needs
* Work closely with staff and parents to ensure every child feels understood, included and valued

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
