Description Reporting to the Chief Field Engineer, the EC&I Discipline Lead will support the E&I Package Manger during the bid evaluation process, contract award through to safe execution of site activities carried out by the appointed Electrical and HV Facilities contractor. The role also requires close collaboration with the wider Costain Construction Team as required. The role involves monitoring construction performance, supporting the Permit to Work process, reviewing and implementing RAMS, and assisting in the coordination of all relevant site activities. They will also support the project quality team by monitoring Inspection and Test Plans and carrying out site inspections. The role will also support the wider project team, including fellow Discipline Leads, the Advanced Work Packaging Lead, Work Pack Engineers, and the Construction and HSE teams. This position will also require the individual to act as the Costain Isolation Authority and Electrical Responsible Person for the project. The role is based full-time on site in Teesside. LI-AW1 Responsibilities Function lead liaising with the package manager regarding progresses, procurement, change management etc. Managing the North & South construction teams, supported by a Discipline superintendent, to ensure the Safe delivery of EC&I works. Develop and ownership of management strategies (free issued equipment, ATEX register and preservation requirements) Assist with the management of commissioning activities. Support the package manager with the Tender Bid Evaluation. Lead contract kickoff meetings Schedule development Managing construction activities, including resource allocation and budget control. Review construction documents and RAMS for site works, ensuring field compliance. Support the Work Packaging team to review Installation Work Packs (IWP’s) to ensure suitability for field construction Support the Package Managers and Area Construction Manager in all matters Electrical and Instrumentation. Monitor facilities contractor performance in the field and help to coordinate all site works Carry out site inspections to support the quality team including witnessing cable jointing, and testing activities. Monitor HSEQ performance in the field and support document reviews Attend daily coordination meetings and SIMOPS reviews Ensure adherence to safety regulations and project requirements Maintain accurate records of work progress, inspections, and any incidents or issues. Monitor facilities contractor performance including cleaning and scheduled & responsive maintenance. Act as Costain Responsible Electrical Person on the Project. Act as EI IA (Isolation Authority) on the Project and on the Project Temporary Facilities. Qualifications Experience in contractor selection and supporting the tender bid evaluation through contract award. Lead kick off meetings. Support front line supervisor in the safe execution of site works. Strong understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation installation works, and testing and commissioning of process equipment. Proven experience in supervising Electrical construction teams in brownfield projects and in controlled environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders. Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage construction activities, including resource allocation and budget control. Ability to read and interpret EI construction drawings and specifications. Must have Isolation Authority and Responsible Electrical Person experience on a Live Plant and a strong understanding of HSG 85 Experience in progress reporting and record keeping Strong understanding of the requirements detailed in IEC 60079-14 ISSOW and PTW experience Must be Microsoft Office Literate
