Inclusion Officer Middlesbrough September 2026 Start ⏰ Full-Time Competitive Salary (dependent on experience) Protocol Education are recruiting an experienced and dedicated Inclusion Officer for a secondary academy in Middlesbrough, starting September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate inclusion professional who is committed to ensuring all students, particularly those with SEND, barriers to learning, or additional vulnerabilities, receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally. The Role As Inclusion Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting inclusive practice across the academy by: Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and academy inclusion policies. Coordinating and monitoring targeted interventions across Wave 1, Wave 2 and Wave 3 provision. Supporting vulnerable, disadvantaged and SEND students to achieve positive outcomes. Developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans and intervention strategies. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers and external agencies. Tracking student progress, attendance, behaviour and engagement to identify barriers to learning. Supporting the deployment of support staff and intervention programmes. Providing direct support and mentoring to students where required. Maintaining accurate records and producing reports for senior leaders and external stakeholders. What We're Looking For The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice. Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH needs, or other additional needs within an educational setting. A thorough understanding of inclusive practice and intervention strategies. Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage complex caseloads. Experience working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families and external professionals. Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills. The ability to analyse student data and use it to inform intervention planning.
