Managing Consultant – OT Security (Transport Sector)
Manchester, London, Bristol, Edinburgh (hybrid – 2-3 days office/client site)
Let’s be honest - the transport sector isn’t getting any simpler.
More smart systems, more interconnectivity, more “digital transformation” initiatives that someone, somewhere, decided were a great idea… until they realised they’d also just opened up 14 new doors for cyber criminals to walk through.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for someone who actually understands Operational Technology security in the transport world - rail, road, airlines, ports - and can help clients make sense of how to stay safe while they get cleverer.
You’ll be the person who helps them design and deliver security strategies that make their infrastructure resilient without turning every innovation meeting into a therapy session.
What you’ll actually be doing
* Leading multiple OT security projects at once and making sure clients don’t just get PowerPoints - they get outcomes.
* Bringing new propositions to market, and generating revenue from new and existing clients.
* Building solid, senior relationships (CIOs, CISOs, COOs, the usual suspects).
* Acting as a trusted voice who can translate technical jargon into something decision-makers can actually understand.
* Leading a team that delivers great work and develops as people. (You’ve seen enough “leadership” that means “delegation with extra steps” - this isn’t that.)
You’ll need to have
* Proven experience in OT Security within the transport sector. (Not negotiable. This isn’t a “learn on the job” situation.)
* A decent grasp of the regulatory stuff - NIS, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, all that jazz.
* The ability to sell ideas and outcomes, not just hours.
* The sort of presence that makes clients want you in the room - not because you’re loud, but because you make sense.
* Ideally some letters after your name (CISSP, CISM, GICSP etc.), but if you’ve got the scars and results to prove your worth, we can talk.
You’ll spend roughly 60% of your time delivering great work and 40% generating new business - whether that’s new clients, existing ones, or teaming up with colleagues to win something bigger.
If you’ve got a knack for turning complex, critical OT security challenges into something clients can trust and rely on, we should talk.
Apply. Or at least have a chat. Worst case, you’ll know what the market’s paying for people who can do what you do.
