Role overview:
This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy, and determination to drive and develop the business. We're looking for a manager with experience in developing the standards and reputation of a gym, while nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
* Maintain and uphold the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct regular safety checks (daily, weekly, monthly). Report and follow up on any defects to ensure the safety of the building and equipment.
* Recruit, manage, and develop a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure operational coverage and delivery of daily expectations.
* Hold regular team meetings to promote team development and keep staff updated.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all set sales and membership targets.
* Drive and maximize secondary spending revenue.
* Ensure the gym facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.
* Oversee the cleaning standards of in-house cleaners (General Assistants) and manage weekly banking to minimize wastage and variances, maximizing profit.
* Ensure all team members adhere to uniform standards.
* Deliver outstanding member service at all times.
* Create an enjoyable and positive work environment for the team.
* Represent JD Gyms as an ambassador at all times.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven management experience within the leisure industry.
* Passionate about customer service and capable of inspiring teams through effective management.
* Qualified at least to Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Successful track record in driving sales, local marketing, and team management.
* Experience as a General Manager or similar operational role within a leisure facility is preferred.
