Job overview
We are looking for a well‑organised and enthusiastic individual to join the busy Obstetric/Gynaecology and Paediatric secretarial teams, who has the ability to work well under pressure, be organised, have excellent communication skills and confident doing minutes are essential.
You must be able to work both independently and within the team, liaise with staff at all levels in a confident manner and be willing to learn.
You will provide full secretarial support to the consultants within Women’s and Children’s Services which includes; answering phones, emails, typing clinic letters and dictations and liaising with patients and GP surgeries.
The role may also include regular minute taking of Consultant meetings.
There is the opportunity for a mixture of on‑site/homeworking after training.
Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive support to the clinical team including diary management, coordinating and arranging meetings, taking minutes, receive telephone calls from patients, hospital staff and GPs in an efficient, friendly manner with the ability to remain calm and polite under pressure, taking messages and/or redirecting as appropriate.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE Level or Level 3 Business Admin/IT qualification or equivalent experience including • English GCSE pass at Grade 4 or above • Maths GCSE pass at Grade 4 or above.
* Audio typing experience.
* Touch typing certificate or equivalent experience.
* Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent
