Site Engineer – £10M School Development – Peterchurch, Hereford Employment Type: Fixed-Term (16 months), Permanent, or Day Rate Location: Peterchurch, Hereford Salary: Competitive – Based on experience and employment type My client is looking for an Site Engineer (or similar professional) to join their delivery team on a £10 million new-build school project in Peterchurch, Hereford. This is a flexible opportunity that can be taken as a 16-month fixed-term contract, a permanent role, or a freelance day-rate position, depending on your preferences. Key Responsibilities: • Site Preparation & Set-Up Support early-stage works, including coordination of enabling works and temporary infrastructure. • Site Surveys & Monitoring Conduct regular site surveys to track progress, verify dimensions, and support design compliance. Use Leica TS16 total station and GPS equipment for accurate, efficient data capture. Assist with the preparation of as-built records and support design validation processes. • Quality Assurance & Documentation Maintain up-to-date QA records to ensure works meet specification. Contribute to document control processes and provide regular reporting. • Subcontractor Coordination Support coordination of subcontractor activities on site. Help resolve technical queries and keep works progressing safely and efficiently. • Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Assist in implementing RAMS and maintaining safety standards. Conduct regular H&S inspections, participate in toolbox talks, and help drive a proactive safety culture. What We're Looking For: Previous experience in a similar Site Engineer or Civil Engineering role. Skilled in conducting surveys using modern instruments (e.g. Leica TS16, GPS). Strong understanding of QA procedures and construction documentation. A proactive, communicative, and solutions-focused mindset.
