This role offers an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to join a vibrant team. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and plant across the UK and Ireland, working closely with the Procurement Manager and the wider buying team.
About The Role
1. Procurement Process: Manage and approve procurement activities for subcontractors, materials, and plant, focusing on delivery, cost, and quality.
2. Enquiry Packages: Gather information and produce comprehensive enquiry packages aligned with project timelines.
3. Evaluations: Compare quotations against budgets and issue purchase orders for the most advantageous options.
4. Supplier Payments: Approve invoices for payment.
5. Commerciality: Develop market knowledge, identify potential suppliers/subcontractors, and explore value engineering opportunities.
6. Tendering: Support the Commercial department with tender and post-tender inquiries as needed.
7. Site Support: Assist site teams with material take-offs and supplier information during construction.
8. Policies & Procedures: Follow the Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and procedures.
9. Other Tasks: Perform any additional duties relevant to the role.

Your Knowledge, Experience & Skills
* Knowledge: Third-level qualification in a related field, with knowledge of building materials, products, and suppliers.
* Experience: Over 5 years proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist in construction.
* Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
