Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a primary school setting before progressing into a career in education, clinical psychology, mental health, or social work?
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in aBlackpool primary school, supporting pupils withSEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)needs. You’ll be working with children inEYFS to KS2who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
As part of the school’s pastoral and SEN support team, you will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Your responsibilities may include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Supporting engagement in classroom activities and learning routines
* Promoting positive relationships and social development
* Contributing to personalised learning and pastoral support plans
This role offers valuable, practical experience for graduates pursuing careers ineducational psychology, counselling, teaching, or social care. You’ll gain insight into the challenges faced by children with SEMH needs and work closely with experienced staff and external professionals.
