Job Description: Pre-Construction Manager

Role Overview
The Pre-Construction Manager will oversee various pre-construction activities, liaise with clients and internal teams, and ensure project readiness from tender to execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review contract documents post-award, including Employer's requirements, Tender RFIs, and construction programs.
2. Coordinate with estimating to ensure tender information is accurately documented.
3. Identify design development needs and set up project trackers and timelines.
4. Engage with clients from tender acceptance and serve as the primary contact during pre-construction.
5. Assist commercial teams with contract finalization and report progress to senior management.
6. Attend design meetings, monitor progress, and resolve issues proactively.
7. Identify offsite fabrication opportunities and coordinate feasibility studies.
8. Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, risks, and delays.
9. Assist in appointing and managing specialist subcontractors and review their proposals.
10. Ensure M&E design compliance and track changes for client approval.
11. Support estimating teams in pre-construction activities and negotiations.
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths.
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, power distribution).
* At least 3 years in a similar MEP role such as Project Manager or Contracts Manager.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
* Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively with management and staff at all levels.
* Goal-oriented and a team player.
