We're seeking an enthusiastic and creative IT Teacher to join our dedicated team. As an IT Teacher at Yarrow Heights School, you’ll deliver engaging, accessible, and meaningful lessons, adapting your teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities. Your work will help pupils develop essential digital skills, prepare for accreditation pathways, and build confidence in using technology safely and purposefully.
Your responsibilities include:
· Teaching high quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting content to meet individual needs.
· Planning and delivering lessons in line with an ambitious IT curriculum.
· Supporting pupils in working towards appropriate qualifications (e.g., GCSE, NCFE where appropriate).
· Working closely with learning support assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to create a supportive learning environment.
· Monitoring, recording and reporting on pupil progress.

Requirements
Qualifications / Experience:
· Qualified Teacher Status (Newly Qualified teachers are welcome to apply)
· Subject Specific Degree
· Strong subject knowledge in IT and computing.
· Experience working with children with special educational needs, such as autism, SEMH, and ADHD, is desirable.
Skills and Knowledge:
· An understanding of high-quality teaching, and the ability to model this
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to build effective working relationships
· A patient, flexible, and creative approach to teaching

Yarrow Heights School, part of Cavendish Education, is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
