Join us as we launch our brand-new Paper Mill in Deeside! We’re looking for practical, reliable, and driven individuals to join our founding team. As a Paper Mill Production Operator, you'll be at the heart of our operation, working with state-of-the-art machinery to produce high quality paper products. This is a rare opportunity to help shape operations from day one at a cutting-edge site and bring the first roll of paper to life!
Training Opportunity
As part of our start-up team, you’ll receive industry-leading training:
* Hands-on papermaking training covering how fibres, water, chemicals and process controls work together to create top-grade paper
* Training with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) during installation and commissioning
* Overseas training trips to our sister sites in Spain and France to gain international experience and familiarise yourselves with the machines in action.
* Ongoing development to build transferable skills across all paper mill areas

Role Responsibilities:
* Operating high-performance paper mill machinery safely and effectively, ensuring production runs smoothly and in line with established performance targets, safety procedures, and quality standards.
* Monitor the production process closely, making timely adjustments to equipment and controls using process computers to ensure optimal machine speed, efficiency, and product consistency throughout the shift.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment, upholding high standards of housekeeping and being responsible for the safety of yourself and others at all times.
* Support quality control by checking product standards regularly, recording all results accurately, and responding quickly to any quality issues to maintain customer specifications and compliance.
* Collaborate closely with colleagues and shift managers, sharing important updates during shift handovers, discussing operational issues, and contributing to problem solving tasks.
* Assist maintenance engineers during breakdowns or machine shutdowns, helping to safely restore production as quickly and efficiently as possible, and ensuring adherence to safe systems of work.
Working Hours:
This role will be a shift-based position working 4 on 6 off continuous pattern however during the initial training period you will likely be working on days
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ideally would have experience in a Paper Mill / heavy machine industry however this is not essential
* A positive attitude towards learning and development
* Strong IT skills
