Overview
At Akings Lodge we provide compassionate, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people living in residential settings. The role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment that promotes emotional well-being, stability, and personal development.
Responsibilities
* Build trusted relationships with children and young people, acting as a positive role model.
* Deliver day-to-day care including emotional support, personal care, and practical assistance.
* Implement therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches tailored to individual needs.
* Support children in developing life skills, independence, and resilience.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
* Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed at all times.
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals.
* Participate in sleep-in duties, waking nights, and flexible shift patterns.
Skills & Experience
* Experience working with children or vulnerable groups (preferred).
* Understanding of trauma, attachment, and child development.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (Preferred)
