What is our Chaplain role?
This position delivers a compassionate, professional and spiritual ministry to all patients, family (and/or support persons) and staff. Ministry is inclusive of pastoral care, pastoral counselling, bereavement counselling, rituals and sacraments, liaison and education, providing support for the emotional, psychological and spiritual health and wellbeing.
The SCGOPHCG Department of Chaplaincy and Spiritual Services is one service across two North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) sites. Therefore, this position may require you to work across both Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
Osborne Park Hospital (OPH) provides specialist health care services for the community in the north metropolitan area and is located in Stirling, 14 kilometres from the Perth central business district. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist health care services for the north metropolitan suburbs. The services at OPH are provided by three main specialties consisting of Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services and Younger Adult Rehabilitation, Surgical Services and Women’s & Newborn Services. Each of these specialties has a dedicated Allied Health Services Team.
