Leicestershire County Council is seeking to recruit a Principal Transport Planner with significant experience in Highway Development Management.
About the Role
As the successful candidate, you will be an essential member of the Highway Development Management Team. You will provide support to the Team Manager in the management of the team, with specific responsibilities in respect of responding to consultations on strategic development proposals throughout the development process, negotiating S106 agreements, supervising and guiding other team members and managing the case load of team members for whom you have supervisory responsibility.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
1. Hold a degree in a relevant subject Or equivalent demonstrable work experience of a senior position within highway development management;
2. Experience of representing the department at a senior level;
3. Conducting and managing packages of transport analysis or assessment work;
4. Supervising and managing members of a team with varied workload, both in technical aspects and performance management;
5. Strong knowledge of the planning process as it relates to highways and transportation;
6. Lead and deliver sustainable, collective high performance through leadership, the setting of clear priorities and a strong approach to performance management;
7. An understanding of, and commitment to Equal Opportunities, and the ability to apply this in the management of staff.
In addition, we also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
