Head Housekeeper/Nottingham/Tollerton/Fulltime

Spire Nottingham Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Head Housekeeper to join the team on a Full time basis.

Duties and responsibilities:

As our Housekeeping Lead you will lead the delivery of housekeeping services across the hospital. This will include the hospital housekeeping team and theatre housekeeping team in providing excellent levels of cleanliness and for our customers.

1. You will have a lot of contact and interaction with patients and staff so excellent customer service skills are essential and you must be friendly and professional in your approach.
2. You will provide clear leadership and direction to the team. Managing the department with a high degree of professionalism and commitment in accordance with the hospital and Spire policies. Provide full support to the clinical and business functions of the hospital.
3. You will be responsible for the management of the Housekeeping Team annual leave, staff rota and sickness with the support of the Hospitality Manager while adhering to Spire policy and procedures.
4. Ensure that all staff are adequately trained in conjunction with the Enabling Excellence appraisal system.
5. You will be responsible for ensuring that all timesheets and payroll enhancements are processed in line with company policy.
6. Run team meetings across all departments and carryout a pro-active 1:1 schedule with team members.
7. You will build a highly skilled, committed and flexible team utilising existing skills and knowledge wherever possible and supplement these by recruiting, inducting, training and developing staff within the department’s budget.
8. Establish and maintain the appropriate standards for the provision of a high-quality housekeeping, monitoring the application of those standards and taking corrective action where necessary.
9. Ensure all departments provide a customer focused service and lead by example in this regard.
10. Review current practices and develop new opportunities to improve the products and services offered to all customers within areas of responsibility.
11. Ensure that all legislation and Spire Healthcare policies are adhered to and maintained and that, at a local level, processes and policies are developed, implemented and audited as “best practice”.
12. Work with the Hospitality Manager to identify problems and provide solutions to ensure that hospitality functions are successfully managed and co-ordinated.
13. Monitor customer perception of hotel services delivery through satisfaction surveys to identify areas of strength and weakness and take remedial action where necessary to improve standards.
14. Identify areas of industry best practice including benchmarking with other Spire Healthcare and implement the changes necessary to produce improved working processes with full consideration of the corporate and business objectives.
15. Assist in health and safety within housekeeping, inspections, audits and risk assessments.

19. High Standards of service, Hygiene and Cleanliness
20. Resilient and empathetic team player, with strong inter-personal skill, has experience of managing staff in a service/customer orientated environment.
21. The role demands a hands-on, pro-active approach with the ability to initiate and handle change in complex environment.
