Position: Chemistry Teacher Location: Barnet Start date: As soon as possible Smart Teachers are seeking an experienced and confident A Level Chemistry Teacher for a high-achieving sixth form college in North London. This is a part-time temporary role (approximately 10 hours per week) starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the summer term. The Role: You will be teaching Lower Sixth students who have largely completed Year 1 content and are currently studying chemical equilibria within physical chemistry. Following this, you will support progression into Year 2 topics (likely organic chemistry), with some flexibility based on your expertise. A key part of the role will involve delivering a thorough and targeted revision programme of Year 1 content in preparation for end-of-year assessments (1–8 May), addressing any gaps in depth of understanding. You will also be responsible for delivering and assessing required practicals towards the practical endorsement. The Ideal Candidate Will: Have strong experience teaching A Level Chemistry Be confident working with high-achieving students Have excellent subject knowledge across Years 12–13 Be able to deliver effective revision and exam preparation Have experience with AQA (desirable, not essential) Be confident in delivering and assessing practical work The School: This is a high-performing and academically focused sixth form environment with motivated students and a strong culture of achievement.
