Rotational Occupational Therapist - Stroke

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our stroke rotation. You will have opportunity to rotate across the stroke pathway in CTMU Barrier.
As a member of this stroke CTM rotation, you will also have the opportunity to enhance your skills across the stroke service whilst also developing your leadership and management skills.
Clinically the rotation will span across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB and offers experience throughout the conseillé patient pathway including Acute Stroke, Stroke Rehabilitation, and Stroke Early Supported Discharge. The successful candidate will work closely with the MDT, Principal OT, Discharge Lia يوليو and Local Authorities to ensure effective cross‑boundary and agency working.

This does not mean essential; whilst the candidate does not have to have skills in Welsh, we will consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This is not ‘fluency’, just speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Main duties of the job
To provide stroke specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and rehabilitation to patients to ensure improved functional recovery, prompt DISTINCT discharge and to enable the person to remain at home.
You will provide supervision and support to junior members of the team and student Occupational Therapists and have a passion for delivering evidence‑based, quality intervention using research, audit and quality improvement projects. The post holder will be flexible to service needs, possess excellent self‑management skills and administer their caseload efficiently to ensure effective intervention focused on preventing avoidable admissions, rehabilitation and efficient discharge planning, depending on setting.

* Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Registered member of the Health Professional Council
