Boeing is seeking a Structures Test & Evaluation Engineer to work in the Structures and Mechanical Test (STR) capability as part of the Structures Test and Evaluation Engineering team located in Berkeley, MO. The STR capability supports structural, mechanical, and material properties test programs for all Boeing Divisions, including Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), and Boeing Global Services (BGS). This position will support lab test teams by engaging in test conceptualization, design, implementation, and conduct for Boeing products.
As part of this team, you will work on military aircraft and weapons programs like T-7A and MQ-25A, and support legacy programs such as F-15 and F/A-18. The team supports tests from material to full-scale static and fatigue testing. The ideal candidate should work well under pressure, possess excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, organizational skills, and be detail-oriented. There are opportunities to collaborate with other test laboratories and develop solutions for structural and mechanical test design and operations.
This position is for 1st shift; however, various shifts, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required.
We are hiring for a range of experience levels, including entry-level and associate positions.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting test programs under senior engineer guidance
* Gathering requirements, developing procedures, designing fixtures, overseeing fabrication, and leading test conduct
* Coordinating with team members, shop personnel, and support staff
* Applying structural design and analysis concepts, test techniques, and hydraulic operations
* Understanding mechanical drawings and hardware manufacturability
* Applying GD&T best practices for quality
* Communicating effectively with cross-functional teams
* Managing test design, fabrication, and data analysis
* Leading troubleshooting efforts
* Presenting data and analyzing test readiness
* Researching test technologies to improve lab capabilities
* Defining and implementing test engineering solutions with project teams
* Contributing to the future of Boeing’s Structural Testing capabilities
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's in engineering, technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
* Experience with CAD software like CATIA, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX
* Knowledge of 2D & 3D design, GD&T, and structural/mechanical testing
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1+ years related experience or equivalent education
* Active U.S. Secret Clearance
* Experience with 3D design software, hydraulic systems, structural stress analysis, instrumentation, and lab testing
