The Vehicle Technician is responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing Sherbet London’s vehicle fleet to a high standard. The role supports fleet safety, reliability and performance by ensuring vehicles are inspected, diagnosed, repaired and returned to service efficiently. The postholder will also maintain accurate records and work closely with internal teams to minimise vehicle downtime and support operational continuity.
Key responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs across the vehicle fleet
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
Complete repairs and replacements to a high standard and in a timely manner
Conduct inspections and road tests where required to confirm vehicle safety and repair quality
Maintain accurate workshop records, including work completed, parts used and issues identified
Liaise with Workshop, Fleet and Operations Teams regarding vehicle condition, repair requirements and expected completion times
Ensure all work is undertaken in line with company procedures, manufacturer guidance where relevant, and health and safety requirements
Support vehicle readiness, compliance and fleet availability across the business
Keep up to date with developments in vehicle systems, diagnostics and repair techniques, particularly in relation to electric and hybrid vehicles
Person specification
Essential
Full UK driving licence
Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence, or equivalent
Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician in an automotive, dealership, commercial fleet or workshop environment
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
Ability to work efficiently, accurately and safely in a busy environment
Good communication and record-keeping skills

Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Level 3 Diploma in Auto-Electrical and Mobile Electrical Operations
Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
Experience working on electric or hybrid vehicles
Experience with commercial or high-usage fleets
