The Bigger Picture
You will:
* ensure the delivery of hospitality and events to a consistently high standard and with due regard for the health and safety of colleagues and guests across all sites within Sheffield Museums Trust.
* work with the Hospitality & Events Manager to ensure that events are delivered within budget
The Day to Day
You will:
* assist the Hospitality and Events Manager with the production of Event Plans.
* Co-ordinate the set up and take down of event spaces in line with event plans and client requirements
* Work with the Hospitality & Events Manager co-ordinate the assignment of casual hospitality assistants.
* Supervise and direct Casual Hospitality Assistants during events.
* Liaise with external event suppliers to ensure that they are aware of event requirements, access restrictions and venue restrictions.
* Be the main point of contact for the client during the set up, delivery and take down of the event.
* Work with the Hospitality & Events Manager to ensure that events are run in a manner that is compliant with legal and licensing requirements.
* Handle cash and card sales in line with Sheffield Museum Trust policies and procedures.
* ensure the management and appropriate movement of resources, the maintenance of clean and efficient work areas, storage of equipment used in the Events store, AV studio and back of house areas.
* Assist the Hospitality & Events Manager to manage hospitality stock including monthly stock counts.
* Undertake waiting staff duties, bar service and reception duties as needed.
* Be responsible for the locking/ unlocking of venues as required.
* be responsible for your own safety, the safety of colleagues and guests, taking all appropriate measures required to maintain the security and safety of collections, buildings and people.
* ensure that administrative procedures for hospitality and events are followed.
* liaise with other staff to facilitate the planning and smooth running of safe, successful events.
* be prepared to work unsociable hours on a non-regular pattern.
* undertake such other reasonable duties as may, from time to time, be required of the post holder
