26 weeks contract role with a Local Authority Job Summary: • Bromley Council is seeking a Placement Officer to manage referrals from hospital and community settings and to source suitable domiciliary care providers for Bromley residents. • The role sits within Adult Services and requires someone who can work confidently in a fast‑paced environment, with strong IT ability, accuracy and effective teamwork. • The post is temporary, covering short‑term sickness, and requires a minimum of two days per week in the Bromley office, with additional office attendance expected during training. • Some work may be required at the PRUH or Orpington offices depending on service needs. Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample): • Manage referrals from hospitals (including PRUH) and community teams for residents requiring domiciliary care support. • Source appropriate domiciliary care agencies in line with service standards and available capacity. • Work efficiently in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment to ensure timely placements. • Use multiple IT systems accurately to record referrals, update case details and monitor progress. • Liaise with internal teams, external providers and health partners to facilitate safe and timely discharges. • Ensure all information is processed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Work collaboratively within the Adult Services placement team to maintain smooth service delivery. • Support the team with administrative duties linked to placements and service coordination. • Maintain confidentiality and work in accordance with data protection and council policies. Skills/Experience: • Experience working in adult social care, brokerage, placements or a similar environment (desirable). • Strong IT competence with the ability to use multiple systems quickly and accurately. • Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail. • Ability to communicate clearly with internal colleagues, hospitals, community teams and external providers. • Team‑oriented approach with the ability to collaborate effectively. • Previous experience in hospital discharge processes or domiciliary care (advantageous). • Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands. Additional Information: • Bi-Weekly Payments. • Location: Churchill Court, 2 Westmoreland Road, Bromley, BR1 1AS. • Hours: 36 per week. • Contract: Temporary (26 weeks). • Rate: Umbrella: £24.75 per hour. • Work pattern: Minimum two days in the office; more during initial training.
