The Role
This is an exciting development opportunity for an ambitious individual to launch a career in medical field sales. We are looking for a Key Account Manager to drive growth within our Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostics division.
You will focus on a range of innovative near-patient testing solutions. Working closely with the Sales Manager and Director of Business Development, you will receive structured product and sales training to help you confidently present technical features to NHS stakeholders.
This role is designed for a \"self-starter\" who is eager to learn. While you will be supported by the by the wider team, you will be responsible for finding and converting opportunities in the field, and managing your own territory.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Development: Conduct face-to-face visits with hospital staff and Point of Care Managers to promote our rapid testing portfolio.
Product Demonstrations: Confidently present product features and benefits to clinical teams (full training will be provided).
Customer Support: Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing customers, offering post-installation training and basic troubleshooting support.
Collaboration: Work closely with the internal commercial team to follow up on leads generated by marketing and telesales activity.
Market Research: Support business transition projects by gathering feedback and insights from healthcare customers during visits.
Administration: Accurately record all field activity, customer interactions, and sales opportunities in the CRM system.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
· Exposure to a laboratory or healthcare environment.
· Previous experience in a customer/patient-facing role (nursing, or inside sales etc.).
Communication: Strong professional communication skills, with the confidence to speak to technical healthcare stakeholders.
Drive: An ambitious, resilient, and target-driven mindset.
Willingness to Learn: Curious and eager to absorb new scientific information and sales techniques.
Mobility: Full UK driving license and willingness to travel significantly.
Desirable (but not essential):
Scientific Background: A degree in Biomedical Science, Biology, or related field (highly advantageous for understanding POC technology).
