Role Title: Senior Business Analyst
Duration: contract to run until 31/12/2025
Location: Knutsford, Hybrid 2/3 days per week
Rate: up to £414 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Role purpose / summary
Documenting and communicating business requirements aligned to each GenAI use case (one use case defined for 2025). Help the definition of Business Banking GenAI backlog for 2026 utilising the value orchestration framework. Looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with 7+ years of experience in analyzing complex business requirements and delivering scalable solutions.
You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders, data teams, and AI engineers, enabling the delivery of impactful, data-driven, and intelligent solutions.
Key Skills/ requirements
1. Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams.
2. Translate business needs into clear and actionable functional and technical specifications.
3. Perform advanced SQL queries for data analysis, validation, profiling, and reporting.
4. Collaborate with data engineering and AI/ML teams to drive GenAI initiatives, such as:
o Natural language interfaces
o Document summarization
o Intelligent chatbots and assistants
o Prompt engineering and use case optimization using Azure OpenAI
5. Partner with engineering teams using Azure Databricks (preferred) for data transformation, cleansing, and analytics.
6. Maintain process flow diagrams, data flow mappings, and requirement traceability matrices.
7. Support QA and UAT by creating test plans, test cases, and performing functional validations.
8. Work in Agile/Scrum environments, managing user stories and sprint deliverables using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
Required Skills
9. Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with data profiling, validation, and transformation.
10. Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure ecosystem, especially: Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills across business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
11. Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks for large-scale data processing and analytics.
12. Familiarity with Python, PySpark, and cloud-based data workflows.
13. Exposure to LLMs, NLP, and foundational AI/ML concepts.
14. Experience in regulated industries (banking, telecom, insurance) is a plus.
15. Azure or Data/AI certifications such as DP-600, DP-203, or AI-102.
16. Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA) are an asset
