Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to play a key role in high-profile fabrication projects of national importance. This role offers the chance to influence complex engineering activities while working alongside experienced professionals in a large, advanced fabrication environment.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of pre-planned fabrication projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and fabrication teams, you will ensure technical specifications, resources and schedules are aligned for successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed project plans including schedules, resource allocation and budget considerations
* Provide technical guidance by reviewing and refining engineering drawings and specifications
* Coordinate materials, tools and equipment required for fabrication activities
* Monitor, maintain and report on project progress, performance and financial status
* Identify potential project bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
* Complete all associated project documentation and support project close-out processes, including wash-up meetings
About the Working Environment
* A high-bay construction hall for new builds
* A panel line, profile cutting and sub-assembly areas
* A fully integrated in-house capability allowing for tight project control and close collaboration with clients
What We're Looking For
* Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools (e.g., MS Project)
* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
* Experience within engineering, structural engineering, shipbuilding, or a related heavy-fabrication environment
* HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
* Commercial awareness and understanding of project management principles
