QA/QC Manager – Structural Steelwork
Location: North East (Workshop & Site Based Role)
We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control across fabrication and construction operations within a structural steelwork environment.
This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining accredited management systems and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards across workshop and site activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and continuously develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
* Oversee quality control within a structural steel fabrication workshop.
* Ensure compliance with EN 1090 up to Execution Class 3 (EXC3), including Factory Production Control (FPC).
* Act as the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) in accordance with ISO requirements.
* Oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and ensure full traceability of results.
* Prepare and manage Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs), project quality documentation, and site quality packs.
* Issue and close out NCRs (internal and external) and manage Notices of Inspection (NOIs).
* Represent the business in client quality meetings and during external audits.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 6 years' experience within the structural steelwork industry.
* Strong background in welding, fabrication, and quality documentation (including LTQRs).
* CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Welding Inspector certification.
* Proven experience operating as a Responsible Welding Coordinator in line with ISO and EN 1090.
* Working knowledge of NDT processes and applicable welding standards.
