Key Duties:
1. Drive market awareness, sales pipeline, and business development activities for Structural Fire Engineering propositions and capabilities.
2. Lead project delivery for complex engagements, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
3. Support team members' professional development and foster an inclusive work environment.
4. Contribute to the UK Fire Engineering senior leadership team, shaping strategy, services, propositions, and team growth.
5. Develop technical skills within the Structural Fire Engineering team.
6. Collaborate with structural engineers on building safety and protection, supporting design and architectural goals.
7. Represent Buro Happold at internal and external design meetings.
Your Skills and Experience:
1. Masters degree or higher in Structural Engineering or Fire Engineering.
2. Chartered engineer or near completion.
3. Leadership experience in structural fire engineering within an engineering consultancy.
4. Project management experience in fire engineering.
5. Design and assessment experience of structures at ambient and elevated temperatures.
6. Proficiency with FEM packages like SAFIR or VULCAN.
7. Strong report writing and review skills.
8. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
9. Proactive leadership qualities and ability to guide less experienced engineers.
Preferred Experience:
* Designing fire protection for sectors like sports stadia and arenas.
* Experience in international markets.
