The Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Up to £55k DOE
My client is opening a brand new site in Warwickshire and is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design of machinery and equipment, including mechanical systems, thermofluids, hydraulics, and structural components.

Key Responsibilities
1. Design machinery and equipment, including mechanical systems, thermofluids, hydraulics, and structural components.
2. Perform engineering calculations, component sizing, selection, and machine design.
3. Create CAD drawings, BOMs, schematics, and supporting documentation for test systems.
4. Participate in concept definition, system design, component selection, testing, verification, and validation of prototypes and final products.
5. Implement design standards and practices, including ISO9001 and CE marking for type certification.
6. Identify, evaluate, and manage manufacturing partners and suppliers in Europe and worldwide.
7. Prepare technical manuals and reports.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to team members, participate in design meetings, and communicate progress to management.
9. Support workshop production and assembly of large prototypes as needed.
The Right Person
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally hold a degree in a relevant discipline and possess the following key skills:
1. At least 5 years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines, heat pumps, or similar.
2. Experience in the automotive and/or heavy engineering industry.
3. Preferably experience in hydraulic systems design.
4. Practical and hands-on experience.
5. SolidWorks experience is required; PDM is a plus but not essential.
