Behaviour Support Worker

Role: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Southampton
Working Hours: Full-time (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Start Date: September 2025
About the School & Role:
Located in Southampton, our Alternative Provision serves secondary students facing social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, including those displaying challenging behaviours. The successful Behaviour Support Worker will work either 1:1 or within small groups, providing emotional and behavioural support alongside academic assistance to help students overcome barriers and succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
✨ Supporting students with autism and SEMH needs during lessons and activities to promote engagement
✨ Assisting in the delivery of personalised behaviour management and learning support plans
✨ Promoting positive behaviour, social interactions, and emotional regulation skills
✨ Supporting communication and sensory processing needs
✨ Building trusting, supportive relationships to foster independence, confidence, and resilience
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people in educational or similar settings
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
Genuine enthusiasm for fostering student development and well-being
Patience, resilience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Enhanced DBS check on the update service
