Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects? If so, we'd love to hear from you at AECOM.
We are recruiting experienced Environmental Consultants to join as an Associate EIA Director. Our Environment & Sustainability team has over 650 staff across the UK and Ireland, and we offer flexible location options including several offices nationwide.
We welcome applications for part-time or full-time roles.
As an Associate EIA Director, you'll lead multidisciplinary environmental inputs to large-scale projects that support infrastructure transformation and the UK's net zero goals, including:
* Energy generation projects (carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables)
* Energy distribution and transmission (including international connections)
* Strategic rail projects
* Highways and greenway projects
* Regeneration projects, port developments
* Sectors like ecommerce, minerals, waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential, industrial
You will work across various consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, hybrid Bill).
You will collaborate with technical experts and align with our ESG strategy.
Responsibilities
* Lead: Manage multidisciplinary environmental inputs, prepare key documents, review specialist chapters, and oversee resources and budgets.
* Collaborate: Work with design teams to identify constraints, develop solutions, and deliver benefits.
* Create: Lead business development and proposal efforts.
* Inspire: Mentor and develop staff.
* Champion: Promote AECOM’s environmental services internally and externally.
Qualifications
To be successful, you should have:
* Experience managing EIA projects and environmental assessments
* Ability to coordinate technical teams and engage stakeholders
* Excellent communication and report writing skills
* Project management experience
* A relevant environmental degree (Masters preferred) and professional membership
* Willingness to travel occasionally
* Chartered Environmentalist status
* Interest in staff management and mentoring
* Experience with DCO/TWAO regimes
