To provide high quality, effective and efficient Radiology services within the contract resources available to the Western Health and Social Care Trust. To share in the collective responsibility for the provision of services for patients within the Radiology Department. To provide leadership within the relevant speciality team. To contribute to excellence in clinical practice through research, audit, undergraduate and postgraduate training.
Responsibilities
* The prime responsibility is for patient care, best diagnosis and team leadership. The successful applicant will also be involved in clinical governance, education and training.
* Ensure appropriate governance and risk management arrangements are in place for the services you are responsible for and take appropriate action to identify and manage risk, maintaining safety for users, staff, and others in accordance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control to ensure patient and client safety and uphold confidence in the Trust.
* As a Manager, ensure all instructions and policies in this area are implemented and that staff are aware of and comply with these policies.
* If responsible for managing a budget, ensure services are managed and developed according to agreed and funded priorities as set out annually and in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions.
* Ensure compliance with payroll documentation procedures and timescales.
* Participate fully in medical education, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and promote knowledge of Radiology amongst colleagues.
* Respond to external requests for teaching related to Radiology within service needs.
* Participate in in-service training for hospital staff.
Skills and Qualifications
* Hold or be eligible for Full General Medical Council (London) registration with a Licence to Practise and ideally be on the Specialist Register. Please provide details:
* Hold a current full driving licence valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment or access to a form of transport approved by the Trust to carry out the duties of the post and meet on-call commitments. This criterion may be waived if the applicant has a disability that prohibits driving but has access to an approved form of transport.
