This position can be located in any of our offices: Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Winchester, Reading, Oxford, Cheltenham, Cambridge, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, or Newcastle.
Key responsibilities
* The ability to manage commission teams/key accounts/sectors providing professional support, guidance and leadership as required.
* Have the ability to operate effectively within a co-located environment integrated with the Client, other Consultant's and Contractor's project delivery teams.
* Ability to work within a partnering environment, form effective working relationships and strive to provide positive outcomes to the Client.
* Produce cost plans, estimates, benchmarking analysis of schemes, awareness of whole life cost.
* Undertake procurement activities in support of the Client as required.
* Undertake contract administration on a project or programme of work; including payment applications, preparation of certificates, cost control, cost scrutiny, risk and value management, assisting the project teams with early warnings, instructions and compensation events and change management.
* Identify opportunities for cost-saving and optimisation of the contract, as well as providing advice to our clients as required.
* Support decision making using date driven insight.
* Support the production of commercial reports incorporating metrics (e.g. EVM, outturn analysis).
* Be able to assess commercial risk and implement suitable control measures where required.
* Ability to take a leading role and advise on the management and resolution of variations, commercial disputes and claims arising.
* Undertake performance measurement of Contractor’s and take appropriate corrective action where required.
* Take a lead on commission finance.
* Ability to manage internal and external stakeholder parties to achieve successful project outcomes.
* Identifying new opportunities and support in the development of work winning.
* Identifying new opportunities to support the business unit.
Required skills and experience
* Construction or infrastructure background in at least one of the following sectors/regulated industries: Energy, Transportation, Defence and/or Utilities.
* Preferably degree qualified in a relevant discipline to the role.
* Candidates will be associate or full members of RICS (or an appropriate professional institution) or be committed to obtaining chartered status.
* Candidates will have line management experience.
* Have both site and office-based experience on a variety of infrastructure projects.
* Successful applicants will have a background on pre and post contractual administration of the NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract. NEC Accredited is desired but not essential.
* Be collaborative, with a can-do, problem-solving attitude.

* Have an understanding and have used cost software including, but not limited to CostX, CEMAR etc.
* Have an understanding of the Construction Playbook, Value Toolkit, Project 13 and Public Procurement regulations.
