1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a compassionate, proactive and dedicated teaching assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with a primary-aged pupil who requires tailored support to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and engage positively throughout the school day.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning activities and communication strategies.
* Support the child’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
* Assist in implementing tailored support plans, including sensory strategies and alternative communication methods.
* Promote an inclusive, respectful and nurturing classroom environment.
* Contribute to classroom activities when required, helping to maintain a positive learning atmosphere for all pupils.
* Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers to aid long-term development.

Candidate Requirements
* Experience supporting children in educational or care settings.
* Experience working with children who have additional or special educational needs (desired but not essential).
* A patient, understanding and child‑centred approach to supporting learning.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
