Compliance & Audit Coordinator
Colchester | Hybrid working (2–3 days office-based)
Salary: £34,000 + benefits
We are recruiting an experienced Compliance & Audit Coordinator to join a highly regarded professional practice in Colchester. This is a key role supporting the firm’s commitment to regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement, working closely with the Audit & Compliance Manager and wider business.
The organisation is driven by quality, governance, and attention to detail, and you will be embedded within a supportive, knowledgeable team that provides full training, coaching, and ongoing development from day one.
The role
As Compliance & Audit Coordinator, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth operation of the firm’s audit, compliance, and assurance activities, helping maintain professional standards and robust control frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing high-quality administrative and coordination support to the Audit & Compliance Manager and team
* Managing professional body certificates, regulatory portals, and document control systems
* Overseeing the Audit & Compliance portal, ensuring timely responses to quality standards and enquiries
* Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and arranging travel and accommodation
* Reconciling team credit card statements and supporting ad-hoc finance administration
* Managing Client Feedback Questionnaires, analysing responses, and reporting insights to support service improvement
* Assisting with the scheduling and delivery of internal and external audits, including BMS and ISMS standards
* Working closely with IT on new starter compliance processes, supplier questionnaires, equipment procurement, and device rollouts
* Supporting subcontractor and sub-consultant onboarding to ensure procurement and compliance requirements are met
* Tracking vulnerabilities, threats, and corrective actions using ISMS-Online, contributing to continual improvement initiatives
* Acting as a key point of contact for the Audit & Compliance function, ensuring effective communication and workflow

* Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent attention to detail and time management
* Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
* The ability to learn new systems quickly and work calmly under pressure
* A proactive, professional approach to compliance and audit support
