Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Components and Process Engineering

You will report to the head of Component & Process Engineering and will have technical accountability as the Senior Function Lead (SFL) for Component Design in this area for the new blade project, as well as oversee design maintenance on existing products. You will sit in a team of SFLs (technical leaders) and Sub-module owners (people leaders) and Tech Leads (technical project leads). The team is located across different locations in Denmark, Isle of Weight (UK), Chennai (IN) and Porto (PT).

Responsibilities

Your main working areas would be:

* Technical Development & Integration: Manage the development and integration of blade features and components into blade products, ensuring performance and functionality
* Technology Pipeline Delivery: Provide mature technology components for new blade projects, supporting innovation and readiness
* Scope Definition & Quality Assurance: Define high-level technical scope and sign off on Component Functional Reviews to ensure quality and delivery
* Project Execution & Documentation: Execute blade projects using Vestas/Modular Way to Market, deliver manufacturing models and documentation
* Performance Analysis & Roadmapping: Assess current component performance using engineering tools (e.g., FMEA, Six Sigma) and maintain a development roadmap
* Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate across teams to balance design drivers like performance, cost, mass, and process efficiency throughout the blade lifecycle
* Design Process & Modularization: Ensure systematic design quality, maintain design guidelines, and develop a modular roadmap for performance, cost-out, and technology reuse

Qualifications

For this position we expected the following qualifications:

* Minimum 5 years' experience in composite blade development
* You have extensive experience and understanding within the structural blade design, design for manufacturing, and have good practical understanding of composite manufacturing
* Proficient in expressing ideas clearly in both spoken and written English
* Master engineering tools like FMEA, IDOV 6 sigma
* Understanding of CATIA (or other CAD tools)
