Job Description:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Advisor to provide frontline health, safety, and environmental support across a busy operational site. The HSE Advisor will ensure company EHS standards and legal requirements are effectively implemented, communicated, and maintained.
Responsibilities include supporting and leading incident investigations, completing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. You will assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements, develop safe systems of work, and carry out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with legislation.
The role also involves preparing health and safety reports, maintaining accurate records, monitoring behavioural safety, and staying up to date with EHS legislation and best practice. You will deliver internal health and safety training and work closely with Engineering teams to ensure equipment is installed and operated safely in line with PUWER regulations. Managing and leading ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits will form an important part of the HSE Advisor position.
Skills & Experience:
The successful HSE Advisor will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment. A NEBOSH General Certificate is essential, along with an IEMA Foundation Certificate or equivalent.
You will have a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation, solid experience with risk assessments, and ideally some exposure to machinery safety assessments. Strong communication skills, experience in internal and external auditing, and the ability to influence site management are crucial. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when required are also necessary.
