National Grid is hiring a US Director, UK Senior Manager, Regulatory Strategy and Regulatory Affairs for Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations


Job Purpose

The Regulatory Affairs Director is responsible for overseeing external regulatory relationships and engagement with the company and state regulatory bodies. This role is critical for maintaining and strengthening external relationships, ensuring engagement on complex regulatory matters, and to create collaboration and act as a trusted advisor.

This role acts as the as the primary liaison between the organization and regulatory staff, Commissioners and senior staff.


Key Accountabilities

* Leads and supports primary point of contact for key regulatory stakeholders to maintain and strengthen regulatory relationships, ensure regulators receive current and accurate information and to facilitate resolution of regulatory issues.
* Engage with regulatory stakeholders to advocate for the company\'s interests and facilitate communication between the company and regulatory bodies.
* Facilitate communication and collaboration between various internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulators, to ensure alignment on regulatory matters.
* Provide strategic support to assist internal groups on the development of regulatory policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated and understood across the organization.
* Monitors changes in regulations and advise on their impact to the organization.
* Create and oversee implementation of a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan
* Provide strategic support to the VP of Regulation and Pricing and team.
* Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements and utility operations required.
* In-depth knowledge, professional experience and deep understanding of issues impacting the energy industry, with state and regional knowledge preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including persuasion and the ability to explain complex issues to policy makers, the public and senior management
* Strong stakeholder engagement experience.
* Proven leadership and team management abilities with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal groups across different businesses.


Qualifications

* Minimum of 10 years of direct government or state regulatory affairs experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business, law, engineering, or a related field


More Information

Salary - $190,000 - $224,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
