Wise Employment are looking for a Domestic Electrical Testing & Inspection Electrician (DEICR), for an organisation based in Swindon.
This amazing opportunity is a Long Term Temporary role (3-6 Months). Where you will earn £18.26 – £20.00 per hour (PAYE), working Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm, earning holiday pay and weekly pay.
We are currently seeking an experienced Domestic Electrical Testing & Inspection Electrician to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) within domestic properties. This role involves working across multiple occupied homes each day, ensuring electrical installations meet current safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in domestic homes.
* Perform electrical inspections to ensure compliance with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
* Carry out remedial works following failed or unsatisfactory EICRs.
* Diagnose electrical faults and complete necessary corrective actions.
* Record inspection findings using digital reporting tools (laptops/tablets).
* Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and property managers to coordinate property access and maintain clear communication.
* Work across a range of environments including social housing properties, local authority housing, and properties managed by electrical compliance contractors.
To be successful in this position you will need:
* Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
* 2391 or 2394/2395 Testing & Inspection qualification – essential.
* ECS Card – essential.
* Full UK driving licence – essential.
* Proven experience carrying out domestic EICR testing.
* Strong understanding of domestic electrical systems and fault finding.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties per day.
* Comfortable working in occupied homes and interacting with tenants.
* Efficient, organised, and able to manage daily workloads.
* Customer focused with a professional and reliable manner.
* Confident using digital reporting systems for inspection documentation.
* Strong commitment to electrical safety and compliance standards.
