We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Housing Occupational Therapist to join the Housing Services team of a Council in Leicester. This is an exciting hybrid role that combines clinical expertise with leadership, focused on supporting vulnerable residents to live safely and independently in their homes.
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Housing Occupational Therapist:
Manage and support a team of 8 Housing Support Coordinators overseeing minor home adaptations.
Triage and assess housing adaptation referrals received from the local council.
Collaborate with the Clinical Support Team to ensure a joined-up approach to service delivery.
Monitor team performance, ensuring assessments comply with legislation and best practice.
Lead service improvements and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) with HCPC registration.
Significant experience in occupational therapy, ideally in housing or community settings.
Proven leadership or management experience in a clinical or housing adaptation environment.
Strong understanding of housing legislation, DFGs, and minor adaptations processes.
Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.
