We provide specialist services in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, respiratory medicine including adult cystic fibrosis and diagnostic imaging, both in the hospital and out in the community. We serve a catchment area of 2.8 million people, spanning Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man, and increasingly we receive referrals from outside these areas for highly specialised services such as aortics. An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join a highly motivated multidisciplinary team delivering patient centred care, with emphasis on quality and patient safety. You will specialise in the scrub practitioner role in our busy theatre unit. Our theatre team is committed to ensuring that staff are trained to meet the demands of their role through a competency based training programme. We have a dedicated Training and Development Officer. We offer a personalised induction programme, supernumerary status for a minimum of three months and clinical courses to help you reach your potential. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn a wide range of skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to work as part of a team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a willingness and capability to learn new skills. A minimum of three months experience in theatre practice is desirable. We have opportunities available at Band 5 Scrub Nursing Team and for both Nurses and ODP's at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital We have 8 cardiac/thoracic theatres, endoscopy room and a recovery unit with a fantastic team of theatre nurses and ODP's. Ø Assist in the management and organisation of a clinical area. Ø Contribute to the development and supervision of other staff members.
