On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an External Reporting Audit & Close Lead for a 6 Month Day Rate Contract based in Liverpool. Please note this is a hybrid working model, at least 1 day per week in the office.
Purpose of the role:
As a External Reporting Audit & Close Lead you will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of the external audit, liaising between the business and auditors to oversee and manage the end-to-end audit engagement, ensuring that audit deliverables are complete and accurate.
This role is also responsible for managing submissions into and out of the finance systems for quarterly and annual statutory and regulatory reporting, ensuring data completeness and timely submission of data, and managing system data validation to support the integrity of the UK&I's IFRS and Solvency UK / Solvency II reported data. Alongside this you will be leading the maintenance and development of the finance systems for the External Reporting team.
What you'll do:
Manage the end-to-end audit engagement, including leading on closing all audit findings in a timely manner.
Liaise with functional teams within Finance to agree and prepare audit deliverables, manage audit resources, produce required plans and minimise duplication of activities.
Prepare and agree reporting timetables for quarterly and annual IFRS and Solvency UK / Solvency II deliverables, identifying and managing dependencies.
Manage submissions into and out of the finance systems for quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, ensuring data completeness and timely submission of data.
Lead in effective management of external reporting system data integrity, including identifying validation errors and managing their resolution for IFRS and Solvency UK / Solvency II reporting.
Maintain and develop finance systems for the External Reporting team and the wider finance community as needed, developing change requests and managing and performing UAT.
Develop and maintain an effective and proportionate control environment over the IFRS and Solvency UK / Solvency II system inputs and outputs.
Lead in the development of an end-to-end workflow and data model for the External Reporting team, including identifying opportunities to simplify processes and eliminate duplication.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, liaising with regional finance teams and functional areas as required to support reporting deliverables.
The skills you'll need:
Previous Insurance / Financial Services Industry experience
Qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage large data sets and workflows.
Proven track record of leading effective and efficient financial reporting processes.
Strong written and verbal communication / presentation skills.
Effective and confident stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
Performance and customer focus, with strong abilities to coordinate, direct and motivate across teams.
