Your new opportunity
Quarriers James Shields Project is currently recruiting a full-time Transition Mentor (Nightshift) to provide a comprehensive support service for young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless. The service offers support to 10 young people in their tenancies, providing emotional support and building positive relationships.
As a Transition Mentor, you will join a well-established team playing a key role in promoting positive role modelling, ensuring that each young person's voice is heard and their individual needs are met. You will contribute towards promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring people have access to information and opportunities within the local community.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 39 hours per week. Sleepover shifts may be included on a rotational basis and paid at the hourly rate.
What you will need to bring to the role
* Ability to build trusting, long-lasting relationships to effectively support young people and their families while maintaining boundaries.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge and experience of supporting young people who have experienced homelessness and/or trauma in their young life.
* Reliability and commitment to delivering a vital service within a community setting.
* Resilience and the ability to respond positively to any conflict or signs of distressing behaviour.
