Job Description
We’re looking for a Probate Assistant to join our friendly and highly regarded Estates team at Cripps.
This is a great opportunity for someone with legal or professional services experience who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to develop their skills in probate and estate administration within a supportive, collaborative team.
You’ll play an important role in helping us deliver a high-quality service to clients during what is often a very sensitive time.
What the role involves
You’ll support our fee earners with the administration of estates, while also providing wider team and client support.
This includes things like:
* Assisting with the administration of deceased estates
* Preparing probate documentation and liaising with the Probate Registry
* Gathering asset and liability information and maintaining estate accounts
* Supporting with inheritance tax returns and liaising with HMRC
* Helping manage asset collection, liabilities and legacies
* Communicating with clients, introducers and professional advisers
* Providing administrative and diary support to the wider team
We’d love to hear from you if you:
* Have experience working in a legal or professional services environment
* Ideally have probate or estate administration experience (not essential)
* Are organised, proactive and detail-oriented
* Enjoy working with people and building strong client relationships
* Are confident using Word, Excel and CRM systems
* Thrive in a team environment but can also manage your own workload
