Purpose of the role
To optimize and address Barclays' third-party spend requirements through defining, developing, and implementing strategies for relevant categories, collaborating closely with the business, and executing sourcing and channel optimization.
Accountabilities
1. Profile spend in the category area, understand business strategy and requirements, identify cost levers and opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop RFPs, and ensure alignment with bank priorities.
2. Plan and execute sourcing events, including RFP/RFXs, and negotiate to meet business needs for value, speed, compliance, and risk.
3. Monitor and guide controls and compliance throughout the sourcing cycle, including regulatory engagement, controls, audits, and data quality.
4. Develop, implement, and operate policies and procedures for sourcing activities aligned with policies, standards, and regulations.
5. Identify and deliver change opportunities to improve sourcing effectiveness, control, and efficiency, including channel optimization.
6. Stay informed on industry trends related to sourcing and category management through conferences, training, and market research.
