An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated applicant has arisen to join the Data Management and Information Team (DM&IT) within Strategic Property Services.
Candidates must be self-motivated, hard-working, willing to learn and have good customer care skills.
The successful applicant will join as a Data Management, CAD and GIS Systems Technician and you will have the opportunity to further advance your 2D AutoCAD and GIS skills, whilst also developing your understanding of the Asset Management functions, liaising with customers and colleagues and supporting the wider Council by monitoring and maintaining Property data from a Strategic perspective.
About the Role
As a Data Management CAD & GIS Systems Technician you will be responsible for the production, development and management of AutoCAD and GIS plans, system reportage and the Council’s core property data which are required for the successful delivery of the County Council's Corporate Asset Management Plan.
You will be jointly responsible with other members of the team for the core property data stored within the Property Asset Management System (PAMS) and the relevant systems to produce 2D AutoCAD floor plans and GIS Mapping for the County Councils Property Assets.
The role will include but is not limited to the following:
1. Completing on-site measured surveys of properties across the County to prepare 2D AutoCAD floor plans.
2. Working with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping systems.
3. Use of (PAMS) and other related systems to ensure accurate recording of all property data with attention to detail, whilst assisting in identifying issues and contributing to their resolution and reconciliation between systems.
4. Responding to internal and external land ownership enquiries by providing an understanding of ownership data from title deeds and Land Registry documents.
5. Supporting and implementing changes to internal systems used by the Data Management and Information Team whilst ensuring integrity of information, co-ordinating testing and developing guidance.
6. Assisting with system administration and training for users in the day-to-day operation to enable easy access and use of property data.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
7. A qualification in one of the following: BSc Qualification in Architectural Technology and Practice and/or AutoCAD City & Guilds minimum Level 2 (2D Computer Aided Design). BTEC Higher / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in relevant subject. (Civil Engineering Geography, Planning, Surveying, Information Management).
8. Demonstrable experience of 2D AutoCAD/GIS (AutoCAD is preferred).
9. Ability to analyse and interpret data with a focus of accuracy and quality, including good communication and numeracy skills.
10. Experience of using multiple IT applications including Microsoft Office.
11. Ability to be proactive, with a flexible approach to working whilst meeting deadlines. To use your initiative and be accountable when dealing with requests and finding solutions.
12. Knowledge of building and construction or Geographical Information Systems.
13. A current valid UK driving licence or the ability to travel between sites.
