Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light-rail network in the UK.
We are recruiting for a People Services Assistant. You will provide all-round HR support to the business and people team, coordinating employee records, recruitment and onboarding, payroll, and providing frontline HR advice.
Key Accountabilities
* Managing the full onboarding process for new starters within SLA and payroll deadline, including right-to-work documentation, offer letters via DocuSign, and all onboarding activities.
* Handling all People Services administration activities for contracts of employment, including appointments, terminations, variations, rewards and retirement.
* Creating and maintaining employee electronic records in line with GDPR.
* Maintaining HR system data to ensure accuracy for dashboards and period reporting.
* Supporting monthly/period HR statistics reporting (sickness, absence, leavers).
* Managing the off‑boarding process for all leavers within monthly payroll deadline.
* Providing first‑line HR advice and guidance on queries and escalating to the People Manager or People Business Partners when required.
* Managing day‑to‑day queries in the people & payroll inbox.
* Supporting process improvement projects.
* Administering and maintaining medical records, including pre‑employment, periodic health surveillance and medication checks.
* Assisting with recruitment – advertising, shortlisting, scheduling interviews and assessment days.
What You’ll Bring
* Working towards or holding a CIPD qualification (desirable).
* Previous experience in an HR or payroll administrator role.
* Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Knowledge of payroll processes (desirable).
* Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to meet business needs.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Understanding of GDPR principles.
