Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Consultants to join the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This role offers the opportunity to work on the front line in a trauma unit and contribute to the development of a new Emergency Centre. The main goal is to collaborate with senior medical and nursing staff to deliver high-quality Emergency Medicine services across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. The position is a 10 PA contract, including clinical duties (1 PA for on-call) and SPA, with additional PAs available upon agreement.
Main Duties
* Provide first-class clinical care in Emergency Medicine, including personal patient care, clinical leadership, and supervision of junior staff.
* Participate in departmental management, administrative tasks, and service development.
* Encourage development of specialist interests within Emergency Medicine.
* Contribute to the development of treatment protocols and guidelines.
* Collaborate with other specialties and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities.
* Share on-call duties equally with colleagues to ensure out-of-hours emergency services.
* Supervise and develop trainee doctors, including conducting appraisals.
Working for the Organisation
The Trust provides acute hospital services for approximately half a million people in the region, covering picturesque areas of England and Wales. Main locations include Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, offering a wide range of acute services including emergency care, diagnostics, and critical care.
