Responsibilities
* Volunteer drivers provide transport to cancer patients and where possible their escort to hospitals and clinics in Glasgow, Edinburgh and throughout Ayrshire. Patients are collected from home, accompanied to hospital, and taken home after treatment. The service supports patients who feel unwell, those in rural areas, the elderly, and parents accompanying children for treatment.
* Support may also include transport for hospice appointments and therapy sessions, subject to availability and need.
* Commit to a few hours of driving and waiting for patients on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis as available and agreed.
Qualifications
* PVG check required for volunteers to safeguard service users and drivers.
* Must own a vehicle with a valid MOT and valid insurance.
* Valid driving license is required.
* Willingness to commit a regular volunteering schedule (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly).
* Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
